Fun on the Farm
Genesee Country Village & Museum
During this unique class, our youngest campers will be introduced to the Pioneer Farm and the animals that live there. Collect eggs, grind corn, meet the oxen, listen to stories, sing songs, play games, and more; all in a 19th-century costume. Visiting a farm has never been more fun!
Doyle's Detectives
Genesee Country Village & Museum
Join the Baker Street Irregulars as they scour the Historic Village looking for clues to mysteries old and new! The 19th century costumes and village create a perfect background for campers to engage in a variety of crafts, games, and activities related to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes.
Jack of All Trades
Genesee Country Village & Museum
Let’s get DIYing, 19th-century style! Everyone will enjoy this hands-on class, as we explore the Historic Village to glean all we can from the village tradespeople before trying our hand at a variety of trades. You may learn how to twist a fancy s-hook with the blacksmith, cut and shape tin with the tinsmith, shave staves with the cooper, print your own card with the printer, stitch a broom with the broom maker, and more.
Confections
Genesee Country Village & Museum
A 19th-century adventure in decorative confections! Create fancy sweets such as candies, marzipan, cookies, pies and cakes. Record the receipts (recipe) in your receipt book, so you’ll be able to make masterpieces at home, as well.
Enchanted Adventures
Genesee Country Village & Museum
This camp is an opportunity for your child to get in touch with their imagination. Participants will make friends with nature as they explore the enchanted woodlands, discover interesting plants and animals, take part in a pirate treasure hunt, play games like pin the horn on the unicorn, make decorations for a woodland elf and fairy tea party, and see how far their imaginations can take them.
Myths & Monsters
Genesee Country Village & Museum
Is your child interested in mythology? Do they enjoy the great outdoors? This camp aims to combine the natural world with a mythical one – hunt for “monsters” in the Genesee woods, search the ponds for while lurks beneath the surface, and listen to legends from near and far while sitting by the campfire. This camp is the perfect experience for your child to unleash their imagination while connecting with nature and the world around them.
