Explore & More – The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Children’s Museum
Through three-floors of educational play zones, this community-focused museum is the only children's museum FOR and ABOUT Western New York, paying homage to the very attributes that make us so proud to be from this unique region. The museum’s exhibits highlight the region’s diversity, waterways, cultures, art, architecture, agriculture, sports, industry, and innovations, sparking the imagination and unlocking the unlimited potential of our next generation of great minds. So much more than just a play place, Explore & More was thoughtfully designed by experts in early childhood education to engage children by encouraging them to explore their own interests in a way that they’re having so much fun they don’t even realize they are learning.
Play-based learning develops the whole child, socially, emotionally, cognitively, physically, and, studies show, academically, playing a critical role in early childhood development. By offering accessible, child-led play experiences, Explore & More is working to help improve school readiness for all children. We pride ourselves on being a fully accessible museum, meaning that all exhibits are built for our friends

Genesee Country Village & Nature Center
Genesee Country Village and Nature Center is located about a half-hour to Rochester's southwest in Mumford. The Village features 59 restored houses, businesses, and places of worship from the 19th century. A stroll through the village (especially on one of their event days such as Laura Ingalls Wilder Days, War of 1812 Encampment, and Civil War Reenactment) brings parents and kids alike back to the 1800s. The GCV's Silver Base Ball Park is the only place where you're likely to hear "Fine hurl, sir!" meant as a polite compliment. The GCVM also features a nature center.
