The Dunbar Project, presented by Ujima Company, Inc., is a dynamic, interdisciplinary arts training program designed to empower youth ages 12 to 18 through immersive experiences in acting, music, dance, and technical theater. Rooted in cultural expression and community storytelling, the program connects students to the performance traditions of their ancestors while encouraging them to explore contemporary voices and personal narratives. Led by professional artists and educators, participants engage in hands-on workshops, mentorship, and field experiences that build both artistic skill and confidence. Through public performances, technical training, and professional development opportunities- including resume building, audition preparation, and backstage production roles- the Dunbar Project equips young artists with the tools to succeed on and off the stage, fostering creativity, cultural pride, and pathways into the performing arts industry.
