Explore Buffalo's Downtown for Kids Walking Tour is a free, 60-minute adventure that makes the heart of the city come alive for young explorers (ages 8 - 14) — and for the grown-ups tagging along. Your Explore Buffalo guide will lead your family through the streets of one of America's most architecturally rich downtowns, telling the stories behind the buildings in ways kids can truly understand and remember. The tour begins at Seneca One — the tallest building in Buffalo — a jaw-dropping first stop that immediately signals this is no ordinary walk. Along the way, families step inside the magnificent Ellicott Square Building and learn about St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral and Buffalo's first skyscraper, the Guaranty Building. Ornate details, soaring ceilings, and hidden symbols around every corner will have kids looking up, looking closer, and asking all the right questions

As a closing celebration for Let Us Gather In A Flourishing Way and inspired by family gatherings from his youth, Justin Favela brings the family fiesta—a lively cookout filled with food, music, art, and fun—to Buffalo in a joyful community event from 4 to 8 pm on Friday, August 21, 2026, at the Buffalo AKG.

Join us for our first Toddler Time of the season! Bring your little one for a day of fun and learning in nature. We’ll enjoy a snack, make a craft, and read the book The Everything Trail by Meg Fleming.

Get ready to see Buffalo through a very colorful lens! Explore Buffalo's Hertel Avenue Murals for Kids Walking Tour takes families on a 45-minute adventure through one of the most vibrant and surprising hidden gems in all of North Buffalo: the Hertel Avenue mural alleyway. What was once just an empty back alley behind a few local businesses is now a beautiful outdoor gallery — and kids absolutely love it. Floor to ceiling, wall to wall, the alley bursts with color, creativity, and stories waiting to be discovered. Every turn brings something new to spot, point at, and talk about. The tour is free, stroller friendly, and designed specifically for families with children aged 5 to 10. Space is limited to 15 guests, so reservations are required.

Looking for a fun, free way to discover Buffalo's waterfront with your little ones? Explore Buffalo's Canalside for Kids Walking Tour is the perfect adventure for families with kids ages 5 - 10! This tour takes kids and their families through Canalside and ends with a free ride on the Buffalo Heritage Carousel! This is a 45-60 minute walking tour for parents and children which includes a view of the Naval Ships, the memorial Park, Shark Girl and much more. This tour is stroller friendly as well as 100% handicapped accessible. All guests must be registered and parents are required to be with their children. Space is limited to 15 guests.
