Explore & More’s brand-new Temporary Exhibit Galley will open on September 26, 2026. The first exhibit to be displayed in the new space on the 2nd Floor will be Science + You, which offers a child-sized laboratory where children can explore how scientists impact health and wellness. Through hands-on, interactive machinery, processes and technology, Science + You demonstrates the role science plays in keeping the body healthy. A demonstration area of the exhibit also will allow visiting scientists and educators to perform fun and interactive scientific experiments appropriate for young children.

Enjoy the premier festival that celebrates all things nature and environment in WNY! Crafts for kids, live animals, hands-on activities, food, and more! The NFTA Parks Adventure Bus is offering free transportation from the main terminal in Buffalo to the festival. Activities Include: Kid’s Scavenger Hunt (with a prize!), Rescue Turtles, Make Bean and Clay Mosaics, Test your birding skills at the Spotting Scope Station, fun activities provided by 20+ partner organizations, including face painting, Musical entertainment, and more!

Theatre of Youth rolls out the red carpet for Curtain Up For Kids, a family-friendly fundraiser filled with theatre, creativity, and plenty of hands-on fun! Families can enjoy breakfast treats, red-carpet photos, crafts, puppets, and free books, then join Acting 101: Family Edition, where grown-ups and kids explore theatre games, creative movement, and storytelling together. The morning also includes a special staged reading of the upcoming The Little Engine That Could: The Musical, plus season sneak peeks, giveaways, and basket raffles. A minimum donation of $10 per person helps support Western New York’s only professional theatre company devoted entirely to children and their families.

Zines are self-published, handmade booklets with a long history of giving everyday people a creative outlet to share ideas, art, stories, and perspectives. In this class, you'll learn how to make a one-page zine — a single sheet of paper that, with a few strategic folds and one cut, transforms into a tiny 8-page booklet. You'll design yours from scratch and leave with a finished original ready to duplicate, share, and distribute. No experience necessary.

Celebrate fall with a full day of family fun at Pumpkinville, a 225-acre family farm just minutes from Ellicottville! With more than 35 activities for all ages, families can bounce on the Jump Pillow, ride the Pumpkinville Express and Cow Train, wander through the corn maze, take a hayride, visit farm animals, explore the pumpkin patch, and dig and play in the Corn Barn. New fun includes the musical Groove Grove and a Build-a-Buddy experience, while 2026 brings a special celebration of Spookley

Roanchar Ranch Draft Horse Rescue at 3282 Centerline Rd in Varysburg, NY, is hosting its annual Open House on Saturday, September 19th, from 1-4. There will be a basket raffle, vendors, wagon rides, and a chance to visit with the draft horses. The event is free and family-friendly.
