We are conducting a study about young children and vegetables. Participating children will be invited to taste a vegetable in our lab and will also complete at-home tastings.
QUALIFICATION CRITERIA INCLUDE:
- Child must be 18 to 36-months-old
- Child must be generally healthy
- Parent/guardian must be at least 18 years old
- Parent/guardian must be fluent in English
- Families also must meet criteria related to household income, primary caregiver status, and child eating behavior
Participation in this research study involves an initial study visit at our lab on University at Buffalo's South Campus, followed by 8 brief vegetable tasting activities to be completed at home over a 4-week period, and then a final study visit at our lab. Each lab visit is no longer than 60 minutes. Children will be served a vegetable to taste, and parents will complete surveys and an interview. Participating families can receive up to $150, plus all supplies needed for the at-home tastings. Participation is voluntary.
