Each summer since 2005, KidsOutAndAbout has sponsored a survey of the Top 20 Places to Take Kids as a way our community can thank those who provide family-friendly fun and learning... and also help create your summer bucket list! Please take 2 minutes to help us by selecting your three favorites. If you'd like, you can also write in favorites in the following categories: Arts Education, Sports Education, STEM Education, Museums, Outdoor Fun, Indoor Fun, Farms, Nature Centers, Festivals, and a few other categories. An effective (and quick, and painless!) way to express your appreciation in a way that really matters to the people who make our community a vibrant place to raise families. June 6, 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. or 1:30–3:30 p.m.: Calling all Girl Scouts: it’s time to have fun while earning your next badge! Join us for a day full of gaming as you complete your Video Game Design Badge. This event will provide all the necessary steps to earn the Digital Game Design Badge for Daisys, Brownies and Juniors. Learn new skills, make new friends, and enjoy a day of play! All scouts will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the program.

Take an open-air safari bus tour or self-drive through our 63 acre park for an up close and personal experience to view and feed exotic animals such as camels, zebra, llama, emu, bison, and many more. Leave time to walk among, pet, and feed smaller, friendly animals in our Small Animal Adventure. Fun for the whole family. Tours run 10:30am to 3:30pm. Park grounds are open 10am to 5pm. Visit our Botanical Gardens on select dates for a unique art-making experience inspired by the lush greenery and vibrant plant life of our conservatory. Through themed art activities, immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, and textures of the Botanical Gardens while crafting your own botanical-inspired craft. Bring your imagination to life, all needed materials are provided. Join us for a relaxing, fun-filled day of art, nature, and creativity.

Get up close with our butterflies in a truly special way! New this year, join us for a live Butterfly Release on select Saturday mornings during the Butterfly Experience! Enjoy exclusive early access to the Botanical Gardens and our Butterfly Experience before we open to the public. Participants will learn about our butterflies, including their life cycle, their behavior, and their role in our ecosystem, before helping to release a butterfly into our exhibit! Regular admission for the day is included, so you can explore the conservatory after the release! This special encounter is limited to 15 people per experience. All tickets must be purchased ahead of time online. Every person must have a ticket!

Since 2007, we've partnered with bowling centers across the US, Canada and around the globe at US military bases with bowling to give kids the chance to bowl two free games every day during the summer - all at no cost to parents.
