*The event has already taken place on this date: Fri, 02/05/2016
Houghton College’s Greatbatch School of Music (GSoM) will be holding its Spring Choral Festival on Feb. 5 beginning at 7:30 p.m. The concert will take place in Wesley Chapel and is free and open to the public.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

The program will include classical choral selections, folk songs, spirituals, hymns and contemporary worship pieces.

“The purpose of the choral festival is to provide a concert exploring the wide breadth of choral repertoire,” says Dr. Adam Luebke, director of choral activities. “It is a chance for all groups to share with each other and the audience their hard work and their expressive beauty.”

Five groups from the GSoM will be performing: Houghton’s College Choir, the men’s and women’s choirs, the gospel choir, and the pop-acapella group The Houghton Singers.

Since the Houghton College Choir’s inception over 80 years ago, choral music at Houghton has continued to expand and gain acclaim for its artistry and sensitivity with ensembles performing at venues around the world. The newest ensemble, The Houghton Singers, was introduced in the fall of 2013.
