Tour our school. Meet teachers, staff & parents. Explore our award winning, accredited school and see what your child has been missing. A Christ the King education can help your child reach their academic goals and pursue their passions.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

At Christ the King School, we offer a positive educational experience that will give your child a strong start on their academic path. Beginning in PreK-3, children work on thinking and cognitive skills, language and literacy, fine motor development, social skills and physical development through daily exercise. On nice days, the children receive real world instruction outdoors. We look forward to taking field trips, like the one they took to Akron Falls just before the pandemic hit. During that trip they focused on the difference between living and non-living determinants, as well as conservation and other concepts. We just opened our brand new playground too! The happy squeals of joy are priceless.

Christ the King School has been educating youth for over 90 years.  The school is doing well and thriving. We have a dedicated staff, wonderful families and students, and exceptional curriculum that together allow every student to shine. CTK is a STREAM (science, technology, religion, engineering, arts and mathematics) school.  Only a handful of Catholic K-8 schools in our area have been able to become accredited by the Middle States Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools. We became accredited in 2019 which validates our commitment to helping every child reach their full potential.

REASONS TO LOVE CTK School:

The Student to Teacher ratio in core subjects is 11:1. That is a huge advantage to the students.
Split classes in middle school with advanced courses in each subject.

Lesson from the pandemic: smaller class sizes benefitd children. We have that here every day.

AIS support is focused in the classroom. The teachers collaborate to find what is best for the student.

The Wilson Program, available for the whole school, is very valuable.

Foreign language: Spanish starting in Kindergarten. Latin in Middle School.

Sports: All children are included. None are cut.
Whether the child is "sporty" or not they are included on the team and see playing time.
Many sports to choose from at an early age.
Strong active Sports Boosters group.
There is enthusiasm and respect amongst the players.

The core curriculum teachers are with the kids all through Middle School. They don't have to spend the month of September figuring out the children's aptitude. They know them from Day 1.

Public Speaking: they gain experience in a comfortable way throughout their time at our school.
Reading in church. Start on stage in the 3rd grade with the play.
There are no cuts in the Arts.

Small community means comfort is built in.
New students are immediately welcomed and become part of the fabric quickly.
Parents make friends here for life also. Strong bonds are formed among the parents.

Ceremonies are beautiful and meaningful.
"How but in custom and in ceremony are innocence and beauty born?" William Butler Yeats.

National Junior Honor Society

Music and the Arts: Fantastic music instruction with an accomplished teacher.
In-school lessons for band and orchestra instruments: Clarinet, Flute, Trumpet, Trombone, Saxophone, Violin, Drums, Guitar, Bass as well as Voice, Piano, Violin and Ukulele
All students perform as a member of a class choir for the Christmas Nativity Play and are taught solfege and music reading in weekly music classes.

Focus is on the whole child. We are mothers to them all.
They don't get lost in the crowd. Academics and emotional health are both important.

The faculty love their jobs and want what is best for each child.
