Old Fort Niagara has stood at the mouth of the Niagara River for nearly 300 years, witnessing many conflicts, including the 1759 Siege during the French and Indian War. Each July 4th weekend, the fort commemorates this battle with a three-day reenactment featuring hundreds of participants, thrilling battle scenarios, artillery firings, Native councils, and period merchants. Now in its 45th year, this event brings history to life on an epic scale.
