COLLEGIATE SUMMER! is a four-week program designed exclusively for students entering their 8th grade year. Students enjoy a mix of recreation, academics, entertainment, and field trips.

By participating in Collegiate Summer!, 8th graders get a chance to experience St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute and develop skills that will be useful as they prepare for high school. The program runs June 27 - July 22, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

ACADEMIC PREPARATION

Numerous studies have documented what educators call "summer slide." Collegiate Summer keeps students' minds engaged with morning classes including reading, writing, mathematics, science, critical thinking and technology.

RECREATION

In the afternoon, students will have opportunities to participate in group recreational activities using the outstanding facilities of St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, including the new Robert T. Scott, AFSC Athletic Complex. A variety of activities will be offered each day, including sports such as basketball, bowling, soccer, street hockey, and volleyball; non-athletic offerings include board games, movies, improvisational games, model rockets and art activities. In addition, a schedule of guest speakers, entertainers and optional field trips is also offered. The cost of the program is $475 with additional fees required for field trips.
