Amherst Youth & Recreation

Town of Amherst Youth & Recreation Department offers recreational and youth programs and services to Amherst residents and non-residents alike. Youth & Recreation programs encompass all ages -- infants/toddler/preschool through adults/grandparents. Program activities are held at various recreation and community center facilities, parks, playgrounds, pools and tennis courts throughout the town.From spring through late fall, area residents and non-residents alike can enjoy golfing at 3 public golf courses. Each course offers its own unique challenge. A driving range is also available for those who want to brush up on their game or take a few swings. Year round indoor ice skating is available through the Northtown Center at Amherst. The facility offers Public Skate sessions for people of all ages. In addition to 3 NHL ice rinks and one Olympic sized rink, the complex grounds include a collegiate baseball field, 8 softball fields and 2 football fields.
