Winter Survival Skills: Fire Building

Keeping warm is paramount to surviving outdoors. Moisture, snow and wind really complicate this aspect of basic survival. This session will focus on natural tinder sources that can be found around us, where and how to gather kindling that will burn effectively, and the basics of fire pit set up in snowy conditions. Individuals will work in teams to collect fire building components and practice the art of no-match fire building. Come in your winter gear and be prepared for hard work and fun!! Ages 12 and up. No exceptions.
