What We Take With Us brings together alumni artists from nearly a decade of the Buffalo Center for Arts & Technology Youth Arts Program, celebrating the creativity, talent, and artistic voices that have shaped the program's history from 2016 to 2026.
Featuring contemporary work by former participants, the exhibition presents a dynamic collection of perspectives, practices, and creative approaches across a wide range of mediums. Some artists have continued to build careers in the arts, while others have pursued different paths, carrying their creative experiences into new fields and communities. Together, their work offers a snapshot of a generation of young people whose ideas, imagination, and contributions have helped define BCAT's creative culture.
As the first alumni exhibition in the organization's history, What We Take With Us serves as a retrospective of the people who have passed through the Youth Arts Program and the creative community they have built along the way. The exhibition highlights not only individual artistic achievements, but also the connections, collaborations, and shared spirit of exploration that continue to link participants across years and disciplines.
At its heart, this exhibition honors the artists, makers, designers, storytellers, and visionaries who have contributed to the life of the program while recognizing the lasting role they play in Buffalo's cultural landscape. Through their work, What We Take With Us reflects a decade of imagination, expression, and community.
