On a dare, Amy posted a picture of herself online that she shouldn’t have. Now that she’s transferred to a new school, she hopes she can make a fresh start, but when a rival finds the whole embarrassing history online, this time Amy has nowhere to run. This story focuses on the point of view of 14-year old Amy and her peers. Humorous, thoughtful and honest, Out of Bounds weaves together video, comic books, and interviews to tell stories of kids stuck on the outside and the adults who feel powerless to help them. Workshops with cast are available with this residency. Recommended for grades 5-9.

School performances: Tuesday-Wednesday, March 15-16 at 10:00 am
Tickets: $7.00

Public performance: Tuesday, March 15 at 7:00 pm. Contains adult language.
Tickets: $10.00

The Out of Bounds cyber-bullying project was created by Working Group Theatre in partnership with the University of Iowa College of Public Health/Injury Prevention Resource Center. The program was developed using several research methods, including interviews with students, teachers, administrators, and parents, data and input from the Injury Prevention Research Center and the University of Iowa of Public Health, and an analysis of relevant academic and news articles. Their research, brought to life through a series of developmental workshops, focused on improvisation and imagination that helped to form the characters, stories, and ideas that are in the play. The two groups put together a website of resources and information for educators called Helping Educators use Art to Reduce Bullying, or HEAR. You can check that out online here - http://hear-project.org
