Nature Sunday Experiences
The Nature Center building and trails will be open on Sundays ONLY for a $5 suggested donation. January 5 - March 15, visit the Nature Center every Sunday from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM for an independent hike, snowshoe loan, or bring your own cross country skis. For a guided adventure, join one of our naturalists for a family-friendly nature experience from 1:00 - 3:00 PM.
Every snowy Sunday, check in at the Nature Center by 1:00 PM and a guide will escort you to the Great Meadow Hill. Bring your own sled for races, paint the ground with snow paints, or build a nature’s friend a snowman complete with wildlife friendly decorations. Please call ahead for hill conditions (585-294-8262).
If there is not enough snow to go sledding, visitors will help select a nature experience such as an indoor animal show, outdoor track hunt, or helping our staff to set or retrieve the GCV&M trail camera.
Those who set out on an independent experience are reminded to check in with a staff member or volunteer before hitting the trails. Also, we invite all visitors to stop by the building on their way out for a cup of complimentary hot chocolate or tea. Indoor crafts and games are also available for children of all ages.
We are also always looking for volunteers to help monitor trail conditions, maintain walkways, and document animal sightings using iNautralist. If you are interested in learning more about how you can help, or if you have any questions, please contact Alyssa Lynch at firstname.lastname@example.org or (585) 294-8261.
For more inforation about this event or to check hill / trail conditions, visit and show interest in our Facebook Event (Nature Sunday Experiences) or call (585) 294-8262.
