Mini Computer: Microbit Summer Camp

This is where coding and engineering collide!
The micro:bit has 25 red LEDs, two programmable buttons, a built-in compass, motion detector, Bluetooth technology, and five Input and Output (I/O) rings. Campers will become familiar with programming concepts and electronics components, while building practical, hands-on electronics projects using the micro:bit. Some of the planned projects include: making a fidget cube and a rock paper scissors game.
- DATES: August 3rd- August 7th, 8:30am to 12pm
- PRICE: $165 (plus $15 lab fee)
- AGES: 9 & Up
- INCLUDES: A take-home micro:bit kit, daily snack, and drawstring bag
- BRING: Campers will need a flash drive to save their work on, we will have some available for sale during online registration and also at the camp during check-in if needed.

Interested in having your camper stay for the full day?
Check out our afternoon session of Creative Coding with Scratch! If your camper stays for the full day, we will be providing supervision from 12pm-1pm between the end time and start time of the two camps. During this time it is recommended that your camper bring a packed lunch to eat. We'll also be playing videos during the break or depending on the number of campers (and on the weather) we'll be going outside so they can eat their lunch while getting some fresh air.
Where is the camp located?
The tech camps are held on the campus of Daemen College on Main Street in Amherst, NY. Facilities include the Business Building which houses several computer labs on campus.
How many children in each camp?
Just like a regular class, we ensure a good adult-to-child ratio. Depending on age, this ranges from 1:8 to 1:10, so most camps are maxed out at 19 children. Daemen Tech Camps reserves the right to cancel a camp should enrollment fall below five (5) children.
What is the refund policy?
Refunds will be given only as a result of injury or illness. The refund will be based upon a percent of the daily loss, less a $25 non-refundable fee. A $25 processing fee will also be charged for any cancellation.
