Webinar Details

The early years for students in kindergarten through 3rd grade are all about buildinging strong fundamentals.

This is a time when children learn to become independent students—or not. Parents need to ensure that their children build a solid foundation that will serve them well throughout the rest of elementary, middle and high school. That includes making sure they learn to make school a priority and are motivated to learn, confidence in their ability to do so, and capable of asking for help when they need it.

During this Huntington How-To, our education expert will review the fundamentals that students in kindergarten through third grade need to have, and how parents can best support their students at home to ensure they are successful.

The webinar will cover the skills that parents should make sure their young learners have before finishing third grade, including:

  • Independent reading ability
  • Writing basics
  • Mathematics – on grade level
  • Good organizational skills
  • An understanding of good study skills
  • Independence and persistence in challenging situations
  • A commitment to learning
  • Growing planning and problem-solving skills

We will also cover:

  • Warning signs that your child has fallen behind during remote/hybrid learning
  • How Huntington can help your child get back on track and finish the school year strong
  • Your questions during our Q&A
