Girl Scouts of WNY, Camp Timbercrest Overnight Camp - "Counselor In Training"

Four Weeks - For girls ages 15-17 (Prepare yourself for future summer camp staff positions)

This four week course will concentrate on the fundamentals of the Girl Scout Camping program, counseling techniques, leadership, self-esteem, and provide skills that are necessary when working with younger campers. Participants will plan and assist with the supervision of activities, as well as assist with instruction supervised by senior staff. The CIT program is a recognized training program throughout the country and is a recommended prerequisite for summer camp employment.

CITs will receive certification in First Aid and CPR and their CIT pins upon successful completion of this program. Prospective CITs will receive an additional application packet that must be completed prior to the start of the CIT program.

Girls that complete the full four weeks of the CIT program will be interviewed for possible invitation back the last week of camp as a Camp Timbercrest intern.

Fee: $925 per person
