Grand Island Middle

July 15th-19th

Junior Camp Ages 5-7

Lego WeDo Adventure Stories (AM Camp 9am-12pm):

In this camp, we will be exploring a variety of coding and technology skills as well as working on group collaboration, critical thinking, and hands_on skills! Children will have the opportunity to build an airplane, sailboat, flying bird, and more! They also learn how to program and code the projects to move and make noises.

Junior World Games  (PM Camp 1pm-4pm):

In this Camp, students will be using the Engineering Design Process to explore the physics of multiple sports as they create a variety of hands_on projects. Throughout the week, they’ll enjoy exploring 5 different sporting events and will have friendly competitions to accumulate Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals for their teams.

August 12th- 16th

Junior Ages 5-7 

Junior Minecraft Amusement Park Maker (AM Camp 9am-12pm):

This camp will help foster our young engineer’s ability to work through the engineering design process by having students build their very own Minecraft amusement parks! Students will have to navigate a number of engineering and teamwork challenges to do so. Students will draft blueprints and plans for their parks on paper before beginning to create it in Minecraft to make it as much like the process of designing a real amusement park as possible.

Junior Game Builders (PM Camp 1pm-4pm):

Everyone loves Games and in this camp kids will be able to build games that they love that are based on key Engineering concepts!  Campers will be Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, and Game Designers in this engaging week. They will build Balancing Games, Games of Chance, Games that Vibrate, and Games that Buzz (who remembers 'Operation'?). And how about a game of Foosball?

Apprentice Ages 8-12

Apprentice Paper Roller Coasters (AM Camp 9am-12pm):

In this camp, you'll be an Architect and a Civil Engineer when you design and build a roller coaster completely out of paper and tape! How many twists, turns, and ramps will your marbles travel on? When you build these roller coasters, you'll be able to see the effects of speed and velocity. Will your Roller coasters be tall or will they be wide...

Apprentice Minecraft Amusement Park Maker (PM Camp 1pm-4pm):

This camp will have students build their very own Minecraft amusement parks! Students will have to navigate a number of engineering and teamwork challenges to do so. Students will draft blueprints and plans for their parks on paper before beginning to create it in Minecraft to make it as much like the process of designing a real amusement park as possible. Students will learn electrical engineering using Redstone and Civil Engineering by planning their ride locations and building roller coasters.

Program Information: Monday July 15th- Friday July 19th | Monday August 12th-Friday August 16th

Cost: $320/week full day | (9am-4pm) | $225/week half day | (9am-12pm OR 1pm-4pm)
