Debate Spaces Academy - March

*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 03/20/2021
Games and activities designed to boost middle school students' confidence, critical thinking, and civic engagement. Expert trainers from around the world will come together to facilitate small groups in an engaging 3 hour session on Saturday, March 20th, from 1-4pm EST.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Each month's Debate Spaces Academy is themed around a current events issue and features the work of a community organization. While debate is transformative for many as individuals, we know that debate alone will not bridge the divides in our world or defend against the spread of misinformation. We empower our students to confidently advocate for their values, whatever they may be. We do so by welcoming students with no background in debate and debate regulars alike to connect with one another and to discuss what is going on in our world.

No student will be turned away for inability to pay!

Debate can be an expensive and intimidating activity. At Debate Spaces, we seek to share the benefits of debate beyond the communities who have historically dominated the activity. Students in 5th-8th grade are invited to attend.
