CPL Summer Reading

Our summer reading program is designed to encourage elementary-aged children to keep reading during summer with “free-choice” reading that is focused on enjoyment and the love of a good tale. This year these efforts are still a central part of our mission, but have adapted to the times. This year we will introduce online reading logs.
This log will be accompanied by incentives. Reader Zone is the platform we are using for our Summer 2020 Reading Program. Sign-up information will be posted on our Facebook Group for our summer reading program. Download the app at

We have three programs:
- Kid’s Choice for Independent Readers (ages 6-12)
This program allows the readers to set their own goals.

- Little Readers (for Children not yet reading independently.)
This program allows the caretaker and child to set their own goals.

- Race to Read (goal-based for ages 6-12)
This is a goal-based log that paces reading at least a book a week.
