Civil Air Patrol has a cadet program that focuses on developing leadership skills, aerospace education (including orientation flights), physical fitness, and emergency services, such as radio communications, search and rescue training, and first aid. TAK Squadron, CAP, meets on Friday evenings from 7-9:30 in the DeGlopper Army Reserve Center, 2393 Colvin Blvd Ext. Parents are encouraged to become involved, as this is an all-volunteer organization. Air Force uniforms are worn by cadets and senior (adult) members. Although we follow Air Force structure, we are not a recruiting tool for the military and the leadership skills cadets learn can be applied to all future endeavors. Past cadets have attended the AIr Force and Merchant Marine Academies, West Point, UB Dental, Aeronatics, IT Schools, Embry Riddle University and have careers in aviation, the military, IT, nursing, and many others, which they gladly share with us when they come back to visit.
