Camp Broadway's original summer camp Mainstage is returning to Shea's Performing Arts Center for the 19th year. This camp is geared toward children ages 10 to 17 who love performing. Previous performance experience is not required and there is no audition to participate.
The staff of experienced Broadway professionals will work closely with small groups to immerse our young cast in an active rehearsal process that features an authorized script and score from a popular Broadway musical, enabling all campers to successfully stretch their skills. Inspired by Broadway’s cherished works and steeped in its grand traditions, the program culminates in the Family Finale, a musical showcase presented on stage at Shea’s Buffalo Theatre.
The 2019 camp will feature invention, innovation, and pure imagination with the musicals Willy Wonka Jr and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Jr. Both musicals were inspired by the works of Roald Dahl, who was an ace fighter pilot, chocolate historian, scientific inventor, and author of many children's books and screenplays.
Registration is now open. Visit www.sheas.org or contact Holly Grant at hgrant@sheas.org for more information.
