Belize: Reefs and Rainforests Adventure - Family Science Adventures

Take your family on the science adventure of a lifetime. Join us in Belize for a Family Summer Travel Camp. Explore Mayan archaeological sites and float through caves. Take a zipline tour of the jungle and work with zoologists at a zoo. Spend a few days on a small island while snorkeling, paddling, swimming and kayaking. Summer camp sessions are led by professional educators and expert local guides.

Belize: Reefs and Rainforests Adventure--Family Summer Travel Camp 2023

Day 1:
Flight to Belize City, Belize. Transfer to the lodge near the Belize Zoo. After dinner, explore the Zoo at night with biologists.
Day 2:
In the morning, float through a system of caves on a tube. See the amazing cave formations. Return to the zoo lodge in the afternoon for the daytime visit to the zoo.
Day 3: 
Visit the Actun Tunichil Muknal cave. This Mayan archaeological site includes ceramic, stoneware and skeletal remains. Transfer by boat 12 miles off shore to Tobacco Caye. The “glamping-style” cabanas on this caye are protected by surrounding reefs and shallows.
Day 4:
In the morning, our guides will offer an introduction to snorkeling the reefs that are teeming with various wildlife. After lunch, we’ll have a similar lesson to learn some kayaking skills.
Day 5,6:
We’ll split into smaller groups for some mixed activities including snorkeling, kayaking, stand up paddling, fishing and more. Or, spend some time relaxing in a hammock on the beach
Day 7:
Depart Tobacco Key and take the boat back to Dangriga on the mainland. Arrive at our rainforest lodge in time for lunch. Enjoy a guided hike to a waterfall and a waterfall swim. After dinner, there’s an optional night hike in the jungle.
Day 8:
Visit a chocolate farm and learning about the process of making chocolate. Explore a Mayan village and then take an adventure on a canopy zipline tour. End the night with a jungle bonfire after dinner.
Day 9:
Transfer to the airport and head home.
