Pumpkinville Celebrates 58 Years of Family Fun

Pumpkinville, voted Buffalo’s Best Pumpkin Patch by the people of Western New York, will open for its 58th fall season on Saturday, September 12, bringing families a full season of pumpkins, attractions, food and fall fun. Located just minutes from Ellicottville at 4844 Sugartown Road, Pumpkinville will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. through October 31, with special hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on October 31.

With more than 35 attractions and activities, Pumpkinville offers something for every member of the family, including pumpkin picking, the Corn Barn and Interactive Crank Tractor, Pumpkinville Express Train, Pumpkin’ Jumpin’ Pillow, Corn Maze, Goat Mountain, Gem Mining, Birds and Bees, and a Hayride. 

The Fun Zone features the Happy Horse Carousel, Giant Slide, Pumpkinville Feed Mill Obstacle Course, Paintball, Apple Blaster and Candy Cannon. The Pumpkinville BBQ Pit offers a variety of food options and Di’s Pies and Bakeshop is well known for its donuts and other sweet treats. 

New this season is the Farmyard Fun Factory, where guests can create their very own cuddly friend through the Build-a-Buddy experience. Also new is Groove Grove, a musical adventure tucked among pumpkins, hay bales and twinkling autumn colors, where guests can explore cheerful chimes, silly drums, clacking instruments and musical surprises around every corner. The season also brings a brand-new Food Service Building featuring the Coop & Crust, serving pizza, chicken tenders and loaded potato barrels. 

Returning for a third year is world-famous pumpkin carver, TV personality and Guinness World Record holder Eric Jones, who will entertain guests throughout the season with interactive pumpkin sculpting. His scheduled appearances are Sundays, September 13, September 20, September 27, October 4, October 18 and October 25. 

The Beer Garden offers local craft beer from Ellicottville Brewing Co., local wine from Winery of Ellicottville and two big-screen televisions, providing an opportunity for adults to relax and enjoy the farm. Guests may also visit Pumpkinville’s front farm market, retail shop and food areas any day at no charge. 

“Not only is it our 58th year celebrating the fall season, but it is also the 25th anniversary of Spookley, everyone’s favorite square pumpkin,” says Diane Pawlowski, co-owner of Pumpkinville with her husband, Dan. “We are particularly excited to showcase our newest attractions, including the Build-a-Buddy experience and musical Groove Grove, as well as our brand-new Food Service Building. The farm’s attractions require a valid admission pass, which can be purchased in advance online. There is never a cost to access the front farm market, food areas and retail shop, which feature gifts, crafts, souvenirs, toys and more.
