Mark your calendars folks, April 7th at 10am we are kicking off our 2021 season here at the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum. To celebrate we will have a special thirty minute guest speaker each day of our opening week. Check the details below and see you soon!

Wednesday April 7th

Join volunteer Doug H. as he uses runs through the process of creating Wurlitzer Band Organ rolls. Doug will feature the only functioning Wurlitzer perforator in the world.
Thursday April 8th

Join Trustee Doug B. as he showcases the woodshop equipment as never seen before! Learn about the process of taking in rough wooden boards and their development into wonderful carousel animals. This equipment has never been seen in its current state by visitors.
Friday April 9th

John, a self-pronounced gear head and museum volunteer, talks about the history of the oft-forgotten Spillman Engineering Company. Join John as he highlights the museum’s collection of three Spillman Engines. This presentation is free with your museum admission.
Saturday April 10th

Interim Director Ian discusses the historical evolution of the popular bumper car brand known as Dodgem at noon on Saturday. He will highlight the three distinct styles of the company, and how the name of this small company from Massachusetts became synonymous with bumper cars.
Sunday April 11th
2:00PM-12:30PM
Do you have musical feet? Join Brant as he plays the museum’s Wurlitzer Home Player Piano. Hear wonderful waltzes and magnificent marches after learning the science behind the pianos you don’t play with your hands.
