Glass artist Phoebe Stubbs will be participating in the David Whitehouse Research Residency from August 8 -27, 2022. Please join us for a lunchtime lecture presented by Phoebe on August 18 at 12:00 pm in the Seminar Room of the Rakow Research Library.
During her residency, Stubbs will explore the physical properties of glass to refract and reflect light as well as how lenses have been physically made throughout history. She will also study the writings of sixteenth and seventeenth-century philosophers and astronomers to further her investigation of how language used to describe glass science, mirrors language used to describe bodies, emotions, and more abstract ideas.
Free and open to the public; no reservations required.
