Computer Coding for Kids - Fun Hour for Free
Stop in and try us out. We are coding with kids ages 7-17. This is more than just a fun after-school program. This is an investment in your child's future.
We teach kids, ages 7-17, computer programming in a fun and engaging way. We use tools and concepts that are interesting to them so they will become life-long learners and, hopefully, develop a passion for coding.
The answer is easy, we use bribery and tricks, just kidding. We entice them to keep their interest by using concepts such as creating their very own video game or programming a drone or robot. The possibilities are endless and we work hard to make their imagination a reality.
Here are several other reasons learning why it is good to learn coding at a young age:
Computer programming promotes logical thinking by teaching how to solve complex problems by breaking them down.
It fosters students’ creativity by actually letting them create something.
Coding helps students develop persistence by teaching them to continue on until they find a solution to the problem.
It also helps develop resilience because sometimes the solution they chose doesn't work out and they need to keep trying until they find the right one.
Improve a child’s communication skills because coding is just learning a new language and any time you do that, you increase your ability to communicate.
They improve their structural thinking by building something large from a lot of smaller parts.
It teaches problem solving, because face it, computer programming can be challenging and requires a lot of problem solving. Practice makes perfect.
We are so happy to hear that your child’s school offers computer programming, not everyone’s does. But, the teachers follow a curriculum and generally have up to 30 students to teach at once. That means your child must go at the pace that is set for the class. Our program offers individualized mentoring. We work from where your child starts and at their pace. They chose the project and we help them every step of the way. Also, did I mention that we offer mentoring with only two students to a mentor. That is a lot of individualized attention.
