Expanding the stories we tell at GCV&M
As you make your way around our 19th-century Historic Village, explore the stories of Black Rochesterians like entrepreneur Austin Steward and Isaac Gibbs, learn about food traditions through the lens of Malinda Russell, the first known Black female published cookbook author, and more.
Plus, join GCV&M experts for an examination of how we’re expanding the stories we tell at GCV&M and current research into figures like Nathaniel Rochester and the individuals he enslaved, explore DEAI in the outdoors and the work happening in our newly renovated Nature Center, and more.
*Times, dates, and prices of any activity posted to our calendars are subject to change. Please be sure to click through directly to the organization’s website to verify.
