The Radio Play Disaster by Don Zolidis

Directed by Belinda King

Assistant director Kendalynn Clemons

Self-proclaimed genius Harlan Bean is ready to make history with his science-fiction radio masterpiece Battle of the Planets. But when the broadcast is in the hands of an ambitious actress with her own vision for her character, several terrified last-minute replacements jumping in, and a disgruntled sound engineer out for revenge, the mayhem in the studio makes an alien invasion look like a piece of cake. Radio goes hilariously off the rails in this flexible piece.

All students must be available on the first two days of rehearsal and both recording dates. Any expected absences should be cleared with the director.

Students will connect via Canvas and Zoom to gain theatre skills. Emails detailing the sign-up process for Canvas will be sent to parents after payment is made.

All registered actors will be cast! We will have a costume and prop pick-up date scheduled (TBA) for the show. If actors participate from out-of-town, they will be responsible for gathering their own props and costumes. Tuition for actors (ages 8-17) is $150.

Techies wanted! While virtual performances differ from live performances, there are also many similarities. Student technicians will learn the nitty gritty of marking scripts, making cue sheets and costume maps, and will aid in virtual technical theatre stage management. Tuition for technical students (ages 12-17) is $100.

Full and partial scholarships available.
