We are looking for adolescents to participate in our project called PLASMA (Peer Led Asthma Self-Management program for Adolescents). The purpose of the PLASMA Study is to help adolescents living in the city of Buffalo learn more about self-managing their asthma. This 15-month study will include participating in a one day camp in September (Saturday OR Sunday) to learn more about their asthma and how to manage it. After camp, teens will then be contacted to fill out forms and answer questions about their asthma. Participation is voluntary and teens must also have permission from a parent or guardian to participate. Adolescents must be between the ages of 12-17, have physician-diagnosed asthma and used healthcare services (preventive or acute) within 12 months due to asthma.
