Summer at Nichols School: Driver's Education

Nichols School's Driver's Education course combines the benefits of practical driving skills and defensive driving techniques for the safe and responsible operation of a motor vehicle.
Successful completion of this course will qualify the student for DMV certification (formerly Blue Card) and insurance reduction certificate (please check with your insurance company to ensure this fulfills their requirements for a premium reduction).
The program consists of 24 hours of in-vehicle instruction, including six hours behind the wheel and an additional 24 hours of classroom instruction.
Students must turn 16 years of age by July 10, 2017, and hold a valid learner's permit or driver's license to participate.
Students are permitted to miss no more than two regularly scheduled classes and must attend make-up classes that will be made available on select Friday's. Students must attend all 16 classes in order to meet the State Education Department requirements for successful completion.
All students will receive 90 minutes of "in-car" and 90 minutes of classroom instruction daily (three hours total). The program is available from 7:00 am - 10:00 am, or from 8:30 am - 11:30 am. Registration requests will be honored as they are received.
