Come experience a summer day camp like never before! Girls and boys ages 8-13 can visit three unique natural areas in your Lake Erie neighborhood for an exciting adventure in outdoor discovery.
Two options:
Session 1: July 31—August 4, 2017
Session 2: August 28—September 1, 2017
Locations:
Monday: Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve, Depew, NY
- Practice outdoor skills like navigation and tracking
- Build a survival shelter or toad house
- Investigate butterflies, frogs, dragonflies and other creatures
Tuesday & Wednesday: Evangola State Park, Irving, NY
- Swim in Lake Erie and participate in sandcastle contests
- Enjoy a morning of fishing
- Explore a nature center and investigate various types of skulls
Thursday & Friday: Penn Dixie Paleontological and Outdoor Education Center, Blasdell, NY
- Dig for 380 million year old fossils
- Collect pyrite (fool’s gold) and pyritized fossils
- Discover a variety of plants and animals on a nature hike
- ....and more!
