Can you ski with your family in western New York?You sure can! Although we don't have the higher mountains of the east, there is plenty of opportunity for great skiing... and of course, when many people think of western New York, they think winter! We in the nation's Snow Belt are justifiably proud of all of the wonderful opportunities for active family fun available in winter. Below, you'll find links to all of the great places to ski within driving distance of Rochester and Buffalo.

Holiday Valley Resort Ellicottville, NY Directions

Holiday Valley is Western New York’s largest resort with a fantastic kids’ ski and snowboard lesson program, on-hill lodging (with heated outdoor pools!), tubing, a mountain coaster and tons of kid-friendly places to eat and shop at the resort and in the Village of Ellicottville. Summertime at Holiday Valley is a refreshing getaway with a large pool complex, hiking, biking and Sky High Aerial Adventure Park. On site Day Care gives moms and dads free time to enjoy the spa, restaurants, ‘big kids’ slopes and golf.

Brantling Ski & Snowboard Center Sodus, NY Directions

A small family-owned and operated snow sports business in Sodus, New York along the south shore of Lake Ontario, which delivers lots of lake-effect snow. Programs for youth and adults alike, specializing in learn-to-ski and snowboard. Multi-day camps, youth and women’s programs, private lessons, family specials. Six of nine trails have snowmaking capabilities. On-site snack bar; beer and wine bar; rental shop with skis, snowboards and helmets for all ages; and a cozy lodge overlooking the slopes.
