Swim Lessons Offered for Home Schooled Children
Webster Aquatic Center

The Webster Aquatic Center offers American Red Cross swim lessons during the day time hours. Each session runs four weeks and meets twice a week for an hour each lesson. Program offerings are available from Level ll thru Level Vl for children ages 6 and up. Program leaders are all certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors.Please address questions regarding class placement for your child to call Mary Ann Pierce, (585) 670-1081. If your child has any fears or special needs please write us a note the first day and we will be sure it gets to the appropriate teacher. You are encouraged to stay in the pool area the first day while we are testing children and the last day in the balcony to observe their progress. The remainder of the lessons, parents and siblings will not be permitted to be on the pool deck. MCC for Kids offers swim lessons, swim club, dive club, private lessons, and kayak instruction. They are all extentions of the Maverick Aquatic Club. Contact Daniel Dubois (MCC swim coach) for more information.

 

Rochester Institute of Technology
This one-on-one instruction program is designed for children of faculty, staff, and students. The objectives of this program are to promote the appreciation, skill and respect for swimming, while having fun and making new friends. The minimum age for participation is four years.

Most branches of the Rochester Y offer swim classes. Click on the link above for the list of branches, then click on the branch nearest you to get more information. Membership in the Y is not necessarily required; there are often two rates, the member rate and the non-member rate.

It's always summer at the Webster Aquatic Center! This 50-meter pool is open to the public 7 days a week and offers swim lessons year-round, including programs on Saturdays and evenings during the school year. Classes for home school families are offered on weekdays. Instruction is also available in scuba, water polo, water safety, and aquatic fitness. Come experience swim lessons with your child in a 75' heated indoor pool (no sunscreen needed)! Water Babies, Tiny Tots and Pre-Swim morning programs! Register early to avoid disappointment!
